The Ring of Honor Top Prospects Tournament is returning at the Jan. 5 TV Taping in Baltimore, and half of the field has been announced thus far.
ACH, QT Marshall, Silas Young and Mike Sydal have been announced as participants in the tournament, leaving four vacant spots. All four of these wrestlers have had impressive showings in ROH in the past, and now get a chance to make a name for themselves and earn a future ROH World TV Title match by winning the tournament.
This marks the second Top Prospects Tournament, as Mike Bennett won the 2011 tournament. He used his title shot at “Defy or Deny,” but came up short against then-ROH TV Champion Christopher Daniels.
Winning the tournament helped establish Bennett as a threat and shot him up the card, and the winner of the 2013 Top Prospects Tournament is going to give one of the eight hungry competitors a chance to move up the ROH card.
