3 Matches Announced For ‘Honor Takes Center Stage’ Weekend

Ring of Honor have four big events coming up over the next few weeks. Next week we have ‘Defy or Deny’ and ‘Manhattan Mayhem IV’. Just two weeks after that, ROH presents the big ‘Honor Takes Center Stage’ weekend.

There will be two shows and both will be iPPV events broadcast live on GoFightLive.tv. On Friday April 1st and Saturday April 2nd, ROH will put on the best wrestling seen anywhere in the world that weekend. Both events will take place at the Center Stage Theatre in Atlanta, GA.

Three matches have been announced for this historic weekend so far and two of them involve Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team – Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin. WGTT have been very impressive since coming to ROH and continued their push for the ROH Tag Team Championships with a win over the Briscoe Brothers at the 9th Anniversary Show in Chicago. That win made them the #1 contenders after The Kings of Wrestling defended their belts against The All Night Express on the same night. On April 1st, they will get their title shot against Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli where they will be looking to dethrone the longest reigning Tag Team Champions in Ring of Honor history.

The following night, WGTT will take on Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards – The American Wolves. The Wolves haven’t competed as a team since December at ‘Tag title Classic II’ but they will reunite for one night only to take on Haas & Benjamin who had issued an open challenge. The Wolves decided to accept and even though the pair have decided to go their separate ways, the hunt, as they say, is always on.

The third match announced will take place on Friday April 1st and will be for the ROH World Championship. Challenger Christopher Daniels will face the winner of the title match in New York on March 19th, either current champion Roderick Strong or Eddie Edwards. Daniels has previous with Edwards having taken his ROH World Television Title off him. The pair also fought to a draw at the 9th Anniversary Show where Daniels was unable to continue after the 30 minute time limit, much to the annoyance of Edwards.

Strong has already defeated the likes of Jay Briscoe, El Generico and Homicide to keep his belt and has proved all of his critics wrong with his impressive performances on the way. Recently, Strong has had to rely on the help of Truth Martini and Michael Elgin – fellow members of the House of Truth – for assistance so cracks might just start to appear in the champion’s reign.

With the likes of The Kings of Wrestling, El Generico, The Briscoe Brothers, Homicide and The Embassy also scheduled to appear, there are many other exciting match-ups that are yet to be announced. Check back to ROHWorld.com for more news in the coming week.
