American Wolves vs. ANX set for Collinsville

ROH returns to the state of Illinois, for a matinee event, on November 6th. The show has a special 4pm belltime and can report that fans, in attendance, will be treated to a special first-time-ever tag team match.

At Collinsville’s Gateway Center, former World Tag Team Champions, the American Wolves, will lock horns with the team of 2011, so far, The All Night Express.

The ANX, of Kenny King & Rhett Titus, have made a huge impact on the ROH tag division, over the course of the year to date. Their bloody rivalry with ROH Legends Jay & Mark Briscoe, culminating in an unforgettable Ladder War, has elevated them to the dizzy heights of mandatory contendership to the tag gold.

The Wolves, on the other, have been teaming much less frequently than in previous years. Both men have been focusing largely on singles ambitions, with both having held the ROH World Championship in the past seven months. Davey Richards, indeed, ended Eddie Edwards’ title reign at ‘Best in the World 2011’.

On the occasions that the Wolves have teamed this year, their performances have often been marred by miscommunication. At April’s ‘Honor Takes Center Stage: Chapter Two’ the Wolves lost to Haas & Benjamin, on what was a huge weekend for the company. At July’s ‘No Escape’, they defeated Adam Cole & Kyle O’Reilly, only for Edwards to raise the ire of Richards by failing to release the finishing hold, that he had successfully applied to Richards’ student Kyle O’Reilly, due to a misunderstanding.

For the ANX, a win over the team recently named #4, in’s all-time best list, would continue their momentous climb to the top of the tag team world. The Wolves, however, will be motivated to proudly defend their tag team reputation.

With both teams having potential distractions, this contest is guaranteed to be an unpredictable one. ANX will be looking ahead to their shot at Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team, at ‘Glory By Honor X’. Richards and Edwards will have one eye on a potential ‘Final Battle 2011’ World Championship rematch.

Fans, in the Collinsville area, should note that this will not be the only tag team bout on the show. Champs Haas & Benjamin have already been slated to defend versus Future Shock (of Adam Cole & Kyle O’Reilly), in a rematch of their fantastic match-up at ‘Revolution: USA’, back in May.

Tickets, for what looks to have the makings of a thrill-a-minute show, are available to purchase here.
