4 Matches Announced For ‘Best In The World’

More matches have been announced for Ring of Honor’s June 22nd return to Baltimore for “Best in the World 2013.”

Two title matches have been added to the iPPV. ROH World TV Champion Matt Taven will defend the belt against Jay Lethal, while the C&C Wrestle Factory will challenge reDRagon for the ROH World Tag Team Titles. Lethal and C&C earned the title opportunities by winning triple threat matches on a recent episode of ROH on SBG.

In addition to the title matches, two other matches have been announced that could have long-term impacts on the company.

The first is Michael Elgin vs Tommaso Ciampa. Elgin and Ciampa have been having stare downs on television since Ciampa returned at “Border Wars” last month. He could pick up the biggest win of his career and put himself in the thick of ROH World Title contention with a win over the No. 1 Contender. Elgin could continue to add momentum before his eventual title match with a win over a wrestler the caliber of “The Sicilian Psychopath.” Regardless of the outcome, this is a match worth keeping your eye on.

The final match that has been announced is BJ Whitmer vs Mike Bennett. The two were involved in the triple threat match to determine the challenger for the ROH World TV Title that was won by Lethal. Bennett attacked Whitmer after the match, and now “The Buzzsaw” will get his chance at revenge.

“Best in the World 2013” airs live on iPPV from Baltimore’s Du Burns Arena June 22nd. Keep checking ROHWorld.com as more details are announced.
