The latest set of ROH TV Tapings were held earlier today in New York. With all the fallout from Supercard of Honor, three big matches were set for the upcoming Border Wars iPPV on May 4th in Toronto.
The ROH World TV Title will be defended as reigning champion Matt Taven puts the belt on the line against Mark Briscoe. The master of “Redneck Kung-Fu” won a 5-man scramble match to earn this opportunity at Border Wars.
The war between ROH and SCUM continues as the superstar team of Jay Lethal and Michael Elgin take on two members of SCUM. However, there are some big stipulations based on the result of the match. If SCUM manage to pick up the victory, then Matt Hardy will receive a future ROH World Title match. Furthermore, Steve Corino will be permanently added to the commentary team. However, if Lethal/Elgin are able to defeat SCUM, then Steve Corino will be gone from ROH for good.
And finally, in the main event for the ROH World Title, Jay Briscoe will make his first defence against Adam Cole. At the tapings, Jay was adamant that he will have a lengthy reign as champion, whilst Cole said he was the future of pro-wrestling, and Jay’s reign will come to an end in Toronto.
These three matches and many more will take place May 4th on iPPV at Border Wars 2013. Wrestlers from Pro Wrestling NOAH will also be at the show, so expect more matches to be announced very soon. For full results from the spoilers, click here.
