Edwards vs. Bennett Announced for SOTF ’11

One claims to be the future of ROH.  One is the present.  A World Title shot looms in the distance as “The Prodigy” Mike Bennett meets “Die Hard” Eddie Edwards in the second-announced Survival Of The Fittest qualifier November 18th in Dayton, OH.

Edwards is proof of what winning SOTF can do for your career.  Just last year, Edwards claimed victory at the event.  He promptly went on to dethrone Roderick Strong for the ROH World Title. After losing the title to tag partner Davey Richards, and already being slated for a Final Battle showdown with the champ, Edwards could use the momentum and security of another title shot.

Bennett, in many ways, is the antithesis of Edwards.  Brash, talented, and a relatively fresh face in ROH, Bennett has claimed he would win ROH gold by the end of 2011 since before he even began competing full-time with the company.  With time running out and a lot of momentum already on his side, Bennett may need this SOTF victory more than any other competitor in the field.

Only one of the two will make it a step closer to a title shot at Survival Of The Fittest.  With both in the midst of incredible rolls, this promises to be a hotly contested match.  Can Bennett make his bold declaration a reality or will Edwards prove yet again that he is second to none in ROH?  We’ll find out November 18th.
