Johnny Gargano

Postby dougiefresh605 » Fri Jul 06, 2012 11:47 pm

From PWTorch- PWTorch has learned that DGUSA Open the Freedom Gate Champion Johnny Gargano’s current 2 year contract with DGUSA expires shortly before the company runs their next set of shows on July 27 in Michigan and July 28 in Chicago. According to sources, Gargano has been offered a new contract, but hasn’t signed it yet. Gargano’s next title defense is set to take place against #1 contender Akira Tozawa in Michigan.

ROH needs to hop on this opportunity and sign him immediately. I've been saying that ROH needs to get him for a long time now. He could really be that next major star if used right. Signing him would only lead to positive things.

If they have the chance, ROH should jump all over this opportunity. Gargano has the look, mic skills, charisma and is great in the ring. He would be a great addition to any roster, especially Ring of Honor's. He's been a favorite of mine for a few years now, and just the thought of him in Ring of Honor makes me really excited.

Very unlikely but if he wants to job to Mike Bennett then that's his prerogative.

If that's something that would affect his decision, he's not much of a professional.

If ROH wants to make up for losing King and all the other bullshit this year then they need to sign Johnny Gargano if he doesn't go to the WWE. If they just pass up this chance and sit there this company is hopeless.

I'd like to see Gargano in ROH, but more than that, I'd love to see a working relationship between DGUSA/EVOLVE and ROH. Everyone would benefit from that. ROH, DGUSA/EVOLVE, the wrestlers, and most importantly: the fans.

What an unprofessional Danielson was all those years for backing off from WWE due to concerns about how he would be used creatively.

Slightly modified for accuracy.

You have a point, but is Gargano the undisputed top indy guy going into a company where they could easily turn him into a jobber and don't you think wrestlers have bigger priorities and worries about signing a contract than losing to a guy who's mostly been protected and defeated some big names like Mike Bennett?

I'd see him re-signing with DGUSA/EVOLVE or possibly developmental with WWE

Unless ROH is willing to give him top dollar, I don't think it would be worth it for him at this point in his career.

I wouldn't say "undisputed"...but he's definitely up there

If ROH were to offer any less than he has offered up to him by Gabe. I certainly wouldn't pass up a DGUSA renewal to take a pay cut from ROH in 2012.

I've known Johnny for 7 yrs. He brings alot of drama. his dad runs PWO and was recently brought into jail. You can google or pm me for the info. He is also very injury prone, but the big thing is he told several people he was signed by WWE. This happened about 2 yrs ago and was on his facebook page. WWE reps heard about this and were not too happy. Johnny is a nice guy but is socially awkward. Having fans buy him gifts is one example. Would I like to see him in ROH? Sure, but I don't see it happening.

How does that work? Why would a fan buy him a gift? And what kind of gifts are we talking about?

Fans buy wrestlers gifts although it's more prevalant in Japan because they actally respect the performers.

It happens more in women's wrestling. Tons of female wrestlers have Amazon wishlists that people buy for them.

Hell female wrestlers will sell things like socks, ring gear, and god knows what else to fans. Sara told a story on AOW about a fan asked this one girl for her socks. So she got the socks from a referee and sent them to him for money.

At the ROH UK show meet and greets, there was a fan who had a bag full of wrapped presents for the majority of wrestlers. Not something Id do but I guess its their way of showing appreciation. I reckon most gifts get left behind in hotel rooms though.
