The MMA thread

Talk about anything not to do with wrestling. Time limit draws don't apply here!

I am so glad Maynard won last night. Guida was doing nothing but running in that fight.

Chris Weidman has a very good chance of beating Anderson when they fight. I can't believe how easily he beat Mark Munoz(who is NO slouch to say the least). Chael Sonnen said in the post-fight show that Weidman is the best middleweight in the ufc right now. Hopefully he can prove it by beating Anderson Silva.

I think the guy needs one more fight honestly. He's only 9-0 and he's only got 2 big name wins. I think it would make sense for Weidman to actually fight Chael or maybe another top 10 guy like Vitor or Bisping.

Chael is supposedly moving up to 205. I think it's a good move.

BTW and I know this has nothing to do with mma. Recently you said that if ROH can't draw in nyc they are screwed business wise because it's their biggest market. What do you think of them only doing 1200 for the last show. That's pretty low considering the building seats 2500!

Wait ROH only did 1200/2500? That's horrible. God damn. I thought people were saying they actually did decently?

149 was the very worst UFC pay per view I've seen. I've watched almost every show from 100 onward.

This show had Silva/Sonnen hype and then it was one of the WORST cards ever.

Isn't that one of the biggest UFC PPVs of all time though? Not sure, but I thought one of the Ortiz/Shamrock fights did big numbers - to the point it reinvigorated the company?

I'm pretty sure that was the first fight they had. That was the first big name fight that got any attention from sports media and did a decent buyrate.

The second fight did do great money wise but the entire card just sucked. I knew someone who went that fell asleep in the crowd the show was so bad.

UFC on FOX 4 was the best ufc card I've seen in a long time. Not one bad fight. How refreshing is it to see not one fight go the distance? Prelims were pretty good too.

I really enjoyed this event. Lauzon/Varner was one on the best fights this year.

They were all great fights. Not sure which one I'd say was the best.

If Jon Jones beats Henderson, he should vacate the LW title and move up to HW. Then Machida vs Shogun 3 could be for the vacant LW title. I mean if Jones wins against Hendo, what else is there for him at LW? Machida is not going to beat him.
