Sports Thread

Talk about anything not to do with wrestling. Time limit draws don't apply here!

He's getting better, apparently he began talking again which is good news. Was pretty horrific but hopefully he'll be back to normal as soon as possible.

That's good to hear. What happened to him? All I heard was that he collapsed.

He had a heart attack by the sounds of it and his heart stopped beating for two hours. They managed to get him to hospital where he began breathing again and is apparently now talking to friends and family which is great news.

Met Christian Laettner tonight, who's cool as the other side of the pillow. He's the reason I became a Duke fan 20 years ago next Wednesday(March 28, 1992 he hit a famous shot vs. Kentucky to send Duke to the Elite 8). Not every day you meet your hero and the person responsible for your passion.

I'm sure you feel my pain about their loss in the NCAA tournament then.

JSWO, I know your a Duke fan, and I also know we've had our issues in the past, so I want to clarify that this isn't directed at you.

But, how great was it when Duke and Missouri lost in the tourney? It helped everyone forget that Iowa St lost to Hampton as a 2 seed... And I'm not even an Iowa St guy. I just love my state... And really hate Missouri and Duke.

CJ McCollum from Lehigh is someone I've known since he was ten years old. When he was in his driveway as a kid he pretended to be playing for Duke. I'm proud to call him a friend. If it means success for my long time friend, beating Duke is a necessary evil. If they lost to anyone else I'd have been very mad.

Do you mean football?

Ive never know a championships where England have been involved that people have cared so little about. People/Media are more interested in the Olympics and Jubilee right now. Expectations are low which is a good thing as they are usually too high, and I think England could do well, the first 2 games without Rooney will dictate how well we do. Cant see past the Dutch, Spanish or Germans though.

Well here in the US we don't refer to soccer as football because to us football is the NFL, but yeah. I was born in the US, but I am Croatian and I always watch the national team when they play in this tournament or the World Cup.

Yeah Croatia played very crisp. If they would have lost to Ireland, I doubt we would have beaten the other teams. Now I think it's feasible to beat Italy and Spain.

Maybe Croatia will play England in the quarterfinals.

1-1 against Italy. I'll take it. Spain will be tough.

Disappointed had Italy to win 1-0, but fair play to the Croats, never gave up

You think England will advance past group play? I thought they would beat France.

Could do with a win tonight to ease the pressure going into the last game but England-Sweden games nearly always end up as draws. I still think England will qualify, the France result was a good one for us, we just need to start scoring

So Classic Cabana, it's a busy day for you. England vs Italy and ROH. Looks like the game is not going to end by the time ROH starts.
