Question for PWG fans

Postby ROH Fan 81 » Fri May 04, 2012 12:14 am

What would be a good starting point to start watching PWG? Not wanting to go all the way back to the start but wanna see stuff with guys from ROH such as Generico, Steen, etc...So basically from a storyline standpoint where would be a good place to start ? Doesen't have to be recently just anytime in the last few years. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

PWG doesn't really care about big storylines.

You're kidding right? TNA's crowd is horrible and 90% of the time has to have recorded sound piped in to make it seem like they are actually alive. Besides the occasional show PWG's crowd is always great.

Dude i'm not talking about the crowd who in the Reseda, i'm talking about the fans in the internet, who thinks PWG are so awesome (and it's their opinion, don't have any problem with this) but they have to say this everywhere which is really annoying and childish...

And btw, those guys who in the Impact Zone aren't fans of TNA, they are just a visitors.

Oh. I thought you were talking about the actual fans at the shows. But that's not just PWG... fans exist like that for every company. ROH, PWG, WWE and even TNA for some reason.

I'd suggest starting at 2010's first show and working towards 2012's shows. That way you can enjoy the tag-title reign of Peligro Abejas.

Starting in 2010 sounds good. I'd also like to see some of the Super Dragon/Kevin Steen feud that i've heard was really good. Anyone know about when that began?

That was 05. Have had that sitting around for months now but haven't watched it yet. Everyone says it's one of the best indy feuds of all time though.

Astonishing X-mas has their Guerrilla Warfare match. That's the climax and last show of 2005, so just work your way back from there. The DVD itself is sold out on PWG.com (which I would never recommend ordering directly from them EVER), but should be on clearance from Highspots.

I'm sure there has to be some great matches tho. With a roster pretty close to ROH's plus some other talent, i don't see how there couldn't be. Too bad i'll never see a live show since they don't leave California and i'm all the way in Indy.

And why don't you recommend buying straight from the source?

Personal experience. Once I attempted to order from them and well either they ripped me off or they are reeeeeeeeeeeeeally slow to deliver. How slow? I ordered a few DVDs in 2008. I'm STILL waiting. I've brought it up on a few message boards in the past and more than a few people agreed with me. I tried to resolve it with them, but it wasn't going anywhere. I know I could've filed a dispute with Paypal, but considering how many shows I've seen for free I decided to call us even.

Highspots though, I bought their entire 2007 Year when they were having a sale and they mailed the box of DVDs rather quickly. Since then I have always just recommended people order from them. Oddly enough around that time Excalibur stopped mentioning Highspots in his plugs for merchandise on the audio commentary. Weird.
