Going to Romania - HELP ME HELP OTHERS

Brasov House of Prayer - HELP ME HELP THEM -- Indiegogo

Basically, if you've seen the thread where I was trying to sell DVDs, this is what half of that money was going towards. I've been offered a week-long position as camera man for a short film being made in Brasov, Romania, which despite my financial situation isn't something I can turn down, due to how good it's going to be for my career and for creating more work.

It's to promote a Christian charity, which I hope doesn't put anyone off, because I know a couple of these people and they're not nutcases. They know religion gets a bad rap and they just want to help build this house for the local kids in bad living conditions to teach them about mostly art and creativity and a little about faith, if it keeps them away from crime etc. The people running this are open-minded 20-somethings that will respect anyone's beliefs as long as they mean no harm.

I've paid for my flights, which have taken away all I've got almost. I'm getting help raising more from family and the DVDs I'm selling, but I'm turning to friends and whoever else I can link this to. I need what I can get for equipment, accommodation etc I need and to ensure I'm not penniless when I return, since I'm starting uni after summer.

I don't expect many of you to do this, I'm not sure how I'd react to someone asking for money to help a charity, rather than just giving it to the charity themselves. But that's just how it is, they need me to go over there and help them in order to promote themselves and their cause. You don't need to feel strongly about this, any small donation will make me very grateful.

It's a wonderful cause and you should be very proud to be part of a group that wants to make a positive difference. Very few have chances to help like that and I sincerely hope good comes out of the trip.
