ROH World Title Match
Davey Richards defeated El Generico

Richards faced his second ROH World title defence since becoming champion at ‘Best In The World 2011’. He beat Roderick Strong on ROH TV but faced a much different challenge against ‘The Generic Luchador’. These two had an absolute war which the crowd were hot for. Generico came close to winning the strap a few times and the crowd really thought a title change might happen. Richards eventually got the win after three sick looking kicks in a fantastic match.

After the match, Kevin Steen entered the ring and started to brawl with Richards. Security and the locker room came out to stop it but Steve Corino and Jimmy Jacobs entered the fray and Corino whipped Steen into all fours sides of the barricades. Eventually, Steen was dragged out of the building as Richards put over Generico and Corino on the mic.

ROH World Tag Team Title Match
Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team defeated The All Night Express

ANX earned this title shot by defeating the Briscoes in Ladder War 3 back at ‘Death Before Dishonor IX’ although ROH haven’t really mentioned it. In what was described as a slow, methodical match, WGTT picked up the win and retained their belts going into ‘Final Battle 2011’ after hitting the Leap of Faith and then a double spinebuster to Kenny King. All four men shook hands after the match which the crowd seemed to be up for, ANX got a great reaction.

Jay Lethal defeated Roderick Strong

This was a proving ground match meaning that if Strong could beat Lethal or just last the 15 minute time limit, he would get a future shot at the ROH World TV title. These two had a hard-hitting match and Strong managed to last the full 15 minutes after just surviving a figure four leglock.

Jim Cornette came out and said Strong has a guaranteed title shot but the fans want five more minutes. Strong went to go but Cornette persuaded him to accept five more minutes. The pair slugged it out for a couple of minutes but Lethal picked up the victory with a handspring cutter.

The Briscoes defeated The Young Bucks

The Briscoes are on their way to ‘Final Battle 2011’ where they will face WGTT for the ROH World Tag Team Titles. The Young Bucks have recently returned to ROH and have impressed since coming back. They were given a tough task in this one with ‘Dem Boys’ on a mission. This match was said to have it all with a mixture of brawling, fast paced action and some high spots, too. The Briscoes got the win with the Doomsday Device on Nick Jackson.

Eddie Edwards defeated Kyle O’Reilly

Edwards hasn’t seen eye-to-eye with Davey Richards over his protégée Kyle O’Reilly. Richards beat his fellow trainer on ROH TV this week and Edwards managed to do the same after an intense fight which the crowd loved. Some brilliant back-and-forth action in this one but Edwards got the win with his newly acquired finisher move the Dragon Sleeper.

Tommaso Ciampa defeated Harlem Bravado

Ciampa squashed Harlem in less than 30 seconds with the ‘Project Ciampa’. He was scheduled to face Jimmy Jacobs and they did start the match but Steen was sitting in the front row. Jacobs went over to him and they began to brawl resulting in his match with Ciampa being ruled a no contest. Security managed to separate Jacobs and Steen eventually.

Michael Elgin defeated Adam Cole, Mike Bennett and Grizzly Redwood

This was your usual four corner survival match with tons of spots and was said to have got the crowd going which is its job. Bennett got lots of offense in throughout this match but it was the ‘Survival of the Fittest 2011’ winner Michael Elgin who got the win. Elgin powerbombed Redwood out of the ring onto Bennett on the outside. He and Cole then slugged it out before he hit the spinning sit-out powerbomb for the win.

Kevin Steen was in the crowd, Cornette came out and the pair started trash talking like they normally do. Steen, wearing a Colt Cabana t-shirt, mocked him by starting an ‘ROH’ chant.
