Huge TV Title Match Set for Final Battle 2011‏

One is the current champion, one the former.  The third claims to be the future.  With competition at an incredible high in ROH’s Television Title division, and no clear cut number one contender, ROH officials have made a huge announcement regarding the title and Final Battle.  With both El Generico and “The Prodigy” Mike Bennett having a legit claim to a title shot, it has been announced that Television Champion Jay Lethal will meet both men in a three way elimination match!

Since August, Jay Lethal, the incumbent champion, has turned back numerous challenges.  El Generico and Mike Bennett have both failed to wrest the title away.  Mark Briscoe failed to even earn a title opportunity.  While Roderick Strong lasted the time limit and earned a future title shot in a Proving Ground match, Lethal defeated him in overtime of that match.  Nobody in ROH has been on more of a roll over the last few months than Lethal.

Generico, the man Lethal defeated to win the Television title, has managed to keep himself in title contention since August, consistently racking up wins over competitors such as Bennett and taking Lethal himself to a time limit draw in a Television Title rematch.  However, those accomplisments pale in comparison to his incredible performance against ROH World Champion Davey Richards at Glory By Honor X, which may be responsible for Generico receiving another title shot at Final Battle.

“The Prodigy” Mike Bennett has guaranteed championship glory since the day he stepped foot in ROH.  After a few unsuccessful attempts to win himself an ROH title, Bennett also managed to take Lethal to a time limit draw, earning his own second shot at the title.  This will prove to be Bennett’s final opportunity to win a title before the end of 2011, as he has claimed he would in the past.

These three fierce competitors know each other incredibly well.  Having wrestled each other numerous times over the last few months, each man will come into Final Battle more focused and more prepared than perhaps ever before.  A match this huge can only happen at ROH’s biggest show of the year, Final Battle 2011.
