ROH Title Match set for Supercard of Honor VII

Former eight-time ROH World Tag Team Champion Jay Briscoe will challenge for the ROH World Title April 5 at Ring of Honor’s next iPPV, “Supercard of Honor VII” in New York City.

The match came as a result of Nigel McGuinness’ announcement at last weekends TV taping in Chicago Ridge, IL. He announced four challengers, including Jay Briscoes’ first shot at the title since “Only the Strong Survive,” after Steve Corino said Kevin Steen has defeated everyone the company has to offer.

Jay Briscoe will have to wait to see who his opponent is for “Supercard of Honor VII.” His younger brother, Mark Briscoe, will challenge for the belt March 30 at “WAR” in Asheville, N.C.

If Mark is successful, “Supercard of Honor VII” would be main-evented by the Briscoes doing battle over the ROH World Title.

In addition to the Briscoes’ title matches, McGuinness also announced that Adam Cole will challenge for the belt at “Border Wars 2013” and BJ Whitmer will have a title shot at a yet-to-be determined date.

Jay Briscoe has his chance to restore honor in ROH by winning the ROH World Title April 5 live on iPPV at “Supercard of Honor VII” in New York City.
