Hello and welcome once again to ROHWorld.com’s ‘Ladder of Honor’! If you’ve only just started reading our site then you might not be familiar with it. The ‘Ladder of Honor’ featured on the site during the HDNet TV show and now that Ring of Honor has returned to TV, so has the ‘Ladder of Honor’.
You can check out some of the old ladders in our archive, and this week’s ladder is based on the first ever ROH Wrestling on SBG which originally aired on Saturday. If you missed the show, you can see a recap here.
Up the Ladder
Adam Cole & Kyle O’Reilly have been absolutely brilliant such debuting in ROH and are now starting to get some wins to back up their very impressive performances. The Bravados have been somewhat or a thorn in the side of Future Shock but thanks to wins over them at ‘Tag Team Turmoil’ to earn a shot at the ROH World Tag Team Titles and again on TV, Cole & O’Reilly have proved that they have what it takes.
With their shot at the titles coming up soon, they will be keen to go on a winning run to give them some momentum and they’ll certainly need it. They showed off their impressive double team moves against a dangerous team in the Bravados and in ‘Ride The Lightning’, they have a devastating finisher move that could give them some gold somewhere down the line.
Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team
Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin have seen and done it all in the wrestling business. They are now bringing that experience and quality to the ROH Tag Team division and showed how good they are with an impressive win over the Kings of Wrestling. WGTT and the Kings are no strangers to each other and even though they took a lot of punishment, they still came out on top.
The Kings always pose a large threat but WGTT mustn’t rest on their laurels as they have a title defence against Future Shock coming up very shortly. At the moment, though, it doesn’t matter who they face because they look so dominant and obviously want to keep those titles for as long as or even longer than the men they defeated.
Down The Ladder
The Kings of Wrestling
The Kings may well have gone out on a loss but what a performance they put on. They were the longest reigning ROH Tag Team Champions in history and fell just two days short of a year long title reign. Even if you don’t agree with how they won some of their matches, that’s quite a record.
For now, though, the Kings have moved on to pastures new and although we might never see them in a Ring of Honor ring ever again, I think it’s safe to say that they have definitely helped in putting ROH on the map. Kings Reign Supreme!
