Ladder of Honor : 4th March 2011

Hello and welcome to the newest instalment of Ladder of Honor. This is where I look back at this week’s ROH on HDNet and assess who has come out of the show looking good and those not so good. So here is this week’s Ladder of Honor, based on the 28th February edition (detailed recap here if you’ve not seen it) of ROH on HDNet.

Mike Bennett

“The Prodigy” thinks that he already is the top prospect in ROH and it’s hard to argue with him. After an impressive win at the ROH 9th Anniversary Show, he won again on this week’s ROH on HDNet. He beat the impressive Adam Cole in the first round of the Top Prospects Tournament and has advanced to the second round where he will face Andy Ridge.

Bennett took a lot of punishment but showed some resilience and managed to get the victory in the end. Bennett is looking very impressive and must be the favourite to win the tournament. If he does do that, 2011 really could be the year of “The Prodigy”.

Christopher Daniels

Daniels has retained his title three times since winning it just over a month ago against Eddie Edwards. After a victory over Devon Storm on last week’s ROH on HDNet, Daniels successfully defended his ROH TV Title against Edwards at the 9th Anniversary Show when the match went to a 30 minute time limit draw. Daniels was bleeding too much and was unable to continue so kept the belt.

On this week’s ROH on HDNet, he defended the belt against on half of the All Night Express – Kenny King. In a match that Daniels dominated, King still got a lot of offense in and almost won the match on a couple of occasions. However, “The Fallen Angel” battled through and picked up yet another win.

Michael Elgin

Elgin is the newest member of the House of Truth and has quickly established himself as the muscle of the group. Elgin was in unfamiliar territory this week as he faced off against a man that weighed a lot more than he does – Bobby Dempsey. Even though the crowd were completely behind Dempsey, Elgin triumphed and somehow managed to powerbomb Dempsey – a move that earned him the victory.

Roderick Strong has given Elgin a hit list of men he wants him to take out and so far he has battled against Christopher Daniels and El Generico. Even though he lost both matches, Elgin has been praised by the ROH World Champion and it would seem that Truth Martini is helping yet another man reach his potential.

Grizzly Redwood

Grizzly hasn’t had a great time as of late and it has been a while since he picked up his last victory. He had the chance to put his name back in the mix as he was entered into the Top Prospects Tournament. He faced off against Andy Ridge in round one but lost out after several devastating kicks.
Redwood said before the match that it was his chance to prove that he deserved a spot in ROH, after this loss, I wonder if questions will start to be asked about his ROH future
