There was a huge ROH World Title match announced at today’s TV tapings in Chicago Ridge, IL.
Jay Briscoe will challenge for Kevin Steen’s title at the ‘Supercard of Honor VII’ iPPV in New York City on April 5. Jay’s brother Mark will also get a World title shot – at the Asheville, NC, house show on March 30.
New ROH World Tag Team champions Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly will also put their titles on the line in NY as they face the American Wolves. The two teams faced off at ‘Final Battle 2012′ but this time it will be for the belts after Fish & O’Reilly beat the Briscoes at the ’11th Anniversary Show’.
We also know that new ROH World TV champion Matt Taven will defend his title in New York. Adam Cole beat Matt Hardy by DQ at the tapings in their #1 contenders match so we could well see Taven vs. Cole or even a triple threat match also involving Hardy due to the unsatisfactory finish. As soon as we know for sure, we will let you know.
Finally, it was revealed that Michael Elgin will take on Jay Lethal, with the winner receiving a future ROH World Title shot.
