At last night’s ROH house show in Richmond, VA, SCUM leader Steve Corino came out for a promo and revealed that on June 23 at the ROH TV Tapings in Baltimore, Matt Hardy will challenge for the ROH World Title.
The TV tapings are the day after ‘Best In The World 2013’ in the same building, the Du Burns Arena. If Jay successfully defends his ROH World Title on iPPV, he will put it on the line the following night.
Hardy’s title shot came as a result of SCUM’s victory over Michael Elgin and Jay Lethal at ‘Border Wars 2013’. Lethal injured himself during the match which prompted Kevin Steen to replace him. Unfortunately for ROH, Steen was rolled up by Jimmy Jacobs to give him and Cliff Compton the victory.
As per the stipulations of the match, SCUM’s win meant that Corino joined the commentary table alongside Kevin Kelly as well as securing a member of SCUM an ROH World Title shot. Corino made it perfectly clear that it would be Hardy who would receive it and now we kn0w the time and place.
