Pro Wrestling NOAH Invades ROH!

Ring of Honor have confirmed that two Pro Wrestling NOAH stars, Naomichi Marufuji and Taiji Ishimori, will be competing at ROH’s Toronto double shot on May 4 and 5.

On May 4, ‘Border Wars 2013’ will be live on iPPV from the Ted Reeve Arena while the day after sees the first ROH television tapings outside of the United States.

Marufuji is a name that most ROH fans will be familiar with. The last time he stepped inside an ROH ring was at ‘Final Battle 2008’ as he unsuccessfully challenged Nigel McGuinness for the ROH World Title. With a long list of achievements in Japan, Marufuji is one of the biggest names in Puroresu and an old favourite of the ROH faithful.

Joining Marufuji in Canada is the GHC Jr. Heavyweight champion Taiji Ishimori. Ishimori enjoyed plenty of success as a tag team wrestler with former ROH favourite KENTA and later Ricky Marvin. He took his first major step as a singles star by becoming GHC Jr. Heavyweight champion in January after defeating Shuji Kondo. This will mark his first appearance for ROH since his match against El Generico at ‘Tokyo Summit’ back in 2008 which was held in his home of Japan.

It is unknwon at the current time who the two will compete against and indeed if they will be teaming together or not. Whatever matches they are put in, however, ROH fans are just happy to see NOAH stars back in the company after such a long wait. With the company’s recent success in the ring and the announcement that New Japan Pro Wrestling star Karl Anderson will be competing at ‘Supercard of Honor VII’, ROH has firmly got the ‘buzz’ back.
