Numerous matches announced for ROH Revolution weekend

Ring of Honor returns to action on May 6th and 7th as they present ROH Revolution weekend. ROH will be at The Ford Community & Performing Arts Center in Dearborn, MI on Friday 6th and at the Ted Reeve Arena in Toronto, Ontario on Saturday 7th.

There have been a few matches announced for each show so far. On Friday night, The American Wolves take on The Kings of Wrestling in what is being billed as Kings vs. Wolves II. The two teams faced off last December at ‘Tag Title Classic II’ and it was the Kings who successfully defended their belts that night. Since then, they have lost their tag team titles to Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team and are looking to get back in the tag title picture. The American Wolves returned for what many thought would be their last hunt at ‘Honor Takes Center Stage’ where they lost to new ROH World Tag Team Champions Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin. However, they will team up again as they seek revenge against The Kings in what could be a match of the year candidate. Talking of match of the year candidates, we have another two matches that could well take that title. El Generico and Roderick Strong have never seen eye to eye and tension between the two men escalated in Atlanta after Generico beat Strong. Post match, Christopher Daniels hit the ring and took out both Generico and his friend Colt Cabana before Strong delivered a backbreaker to “The Generic Luchadore” onto a steel chair. Tensions are obviously running high between these two men and that’s why ROH Officials have decided to make this one a No Disqualification match. The third match that has been announced so far will be a First Blood match between The Briscoes and The All Night Express. These two teams faced off at ‘Manhattan Mayhem IV’ and after ANX picked up the win, The Briscoes attacked them. This led to a match at ‘Honor Takes Center Stage’ which The Briscoes won, the match will mostly be remembered from the amount of blood lost by Jay Briscoe who was wearing a proverbial crimson mask. Rhett Titus was also busted open during the match and The Briscoes then challenged Titus & Kenny King to a First Blood match which they duly accepted. This should be an all out violent war with plenty of blood being spilled.

On Saturday, ROH travel to Toronto for ROH Revolution: Canada. The main event will see Eddie Edwards defend the ROH World Title against “That Young Knockout Kid” Chris Hero. For a detailed look at this match, please visit here: Another title match will take place in Canada; Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team will defend the ROH Tag Team belts against The Briscoes. Jay and Mark say they aren’t going to lose any more in Ring of Honor; add this to their new attitude and their impressive performance against ANX at ‘Honor Takes Center Stage’ and ROH Officials decided they deserved a shot at the titles. The Briscoes will be coming off a bloody war against ANX so you’d have to say that Haas & Benjamin are favourites. It will take a massive effort by The Briscoes to win their seventh Tag Team Titles but if anybody can do it; they can. The latest match to be announced is the returning Delirious against Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana in memory of “Sweet ‘n’ Sour” Larry Sweeney. Delirious hasn’t been seen in a Ring of Honor ring since being on the end of a vicious attack by The All Night Express back in August 2010. However, he will return after a nine month absence to pay tribute to a close friend. Cabana, another good friend of Sweeney’s, will take on Delirious in what should be a fun, entertaining and emotional match-up.

More matches will be announced in the coming week and we’ll have them all here on
