Our attendance analysts Stephen Burns and Lavie Margolin have calculated something very interesting for the upcoming Supercard of Honor XII show. It was announced that Kenny Omega versus Cody is going to take place in NOLA and apparently that lead to a ticket sales spike. Here is the information that Stephen sent in:
After my email update last week, which was approx 3,006 tickets sold – there had been minimal further tickets sold and I would have said at the absolute best estimate, there was around 3,050 tickets sold as of Friday lunchtime (British time).
When Omega-Rhodes was announced on Friday afternoon, there was an immediate spike in ticket sales and the total now sold for the event is 3,828 tickets – which is now an ROH record for tickets sold for an event. There is also currently approx 50-100 seats available for re-sale on Ticketmaster which may mean the attendance is very slightly below the tickets-sold total but even with all of them subtracted, it will still be ROH’s record attendance.
For a further breakdown, the total lower tier capacity (including floor seats) is currently 3,102. After this weekend, there is now only 21 seats still available in the lower tier; with only 3 of these seats not accessible/disabled seating.
The total available capacity for the show is currently 5,162 – which means theres only 1,334 seats left for the show. There is the possibility that Section C (Lower Tier and Upper Tier) could be openend up for public sale if there is a demand, which would be about a further 600 seats. These seats have never been made available however and it may be something to do with their television and equipment set-up. There is also the possibility that they begin to open up seating to the left of the stadium however this will depend on the stage set-up they end up using.
This is all obviously unofficial as we are not working with ROH on this research and there are other factors out there to figure in (right after I wrote up this article, Ian Riccaboni tweeted at us and confirmed this number). But this is exciting news for ROH if this is the trend for the upcoming event. With news that the Long Beach NJPW show sold out 4700 tickets in about 20 minutes. So this is obviously big news for ROH as this was a match that many felt would go down at the All In show or possibly a future NJPW show. This also brings into question how this series of matches/feud will happen. I am certainly excited about it. Leave a comment in our forum in our Supercard of Honor dedicated thread.
