The show opens up with a recap of the match between Mike Bennett and Eddie Edwards from the March Mayhem tournament where Bennett won with the help of Maria’s interference.
Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness welcome us to the show, and hype up the matches on the show.
Mike Bennett says he’s going to make sure Edwards never touches Maria again. Edwards says he’s going to get even for what happened at March Mayhem.
Mike Bennett w/ Maria and Brutal Bob vs Eddie Edwards
There is a long feeling out process as both men trade quick submission attempts. Edwards sends Bennett reeling with a hurricarana. Edwards counters a pin attempt into an STF, and Bennett eventually finds his way to the ropes. On the outside of the ring, Bennett hits a Russian leg sweep into the barricade as the show goes to commercial.
Back from commercial, and Bennett whips Edwards off the top rope and drops him into a back breaker. Edwards fights back and they exchange forearm shots. Edwards sends Bennett over the top, and hits a moonsault from the apron. Edwards locks in the Achilles Lock, but Brutal Bob gets n the apron and distracts him. Bennett goes for a superplex, but Edwards fights out of it. Brutal Bob once again tries to interfere, but is met by a double stomp by Edwards. Edwards is able to roll up Bennett to get the pinfall victory.
Winner by Pinfall: Eddie Edwards
After the match, Maria distracts Edwards and Bennett and Brutal Bob beat down Edwards.
ROHWorld.com’s Thoughts: I can’t say I was really looking forward to this match, but it turned out to be a really enjoyable match. Bennett’s streak of good matches continued on this show, and Edwards was as solid as always. The interference played a good part in the story, especially taking their previous match into consideration. This was a very good way to open up this week’s show.
Grizzly Redwood vs Kamel Dickinson
Before the match starts, the House of Truth make its way to the ring. Truth Martini says Redwood and Dickinson should team up to wrestle Michael Elgin. Martini offers them $1000 to take place in the match, and they agree.
Michael Elgin w/ Truth Martini and Roderick Strong
vs Grizzly Redwood and Kamel Dickinson
Dickinson starts the match off against Elgin. Elgin powerslams him for a two count. Elgin hits the spinning powerbomb, and ROH officials take him into the back. Redwood is in the match now, which spills to the outside. Elgin powerbombs him against the ring frame. Redwood hits a tornado DDT, but Elgin kicks out of the pin attempt. Elgin repeatedly stomps Redwood in the corner. Jay Lethal comes down and grabs the tag rope, so apparently he is now somehow a part of the match. Redwood finally makes the tag to Lethal. He hits the handspring back elbow and goes for the pin, but Elgin is able to kick out. Lethal goes for Hail to the King, but Elgin stops him. Strong distracts Lethal from the apron, which gives Elgin a chance to pick up the win. Strong, however, enters the ring and beats down Lethal. Strong and Elgin argue in the ring as Martini tries to break them up. Lethal hits the Lethal Injection on Strong as Elgin watches on.
Winners by DQ: Jay Lethal, Grizzly Redwood and Kamel Dickinson (I think)
ROHWorld.com’s Thoughts: What did I just watch? That was a complete mess from basically the start. Dickinson didn’t look good at all. Redwood’s portion of the match was decent, but Lethal’s involvement was just plain dumb. It was a ridiculous match with an even worse ending. I know they are building up the tension between the House of Truth, but there has to be a better way to do it than this. This was just awful, and is probably the worst match on ROH TV to date.
It’s now time for Inside ROH. The feud between the Young Bucks and the All Night Express is recapped. Titus says he will never forget what the Young Bucks did to him. The Young Bucks say they’re rock stars and they’re going to win the match.
Elimination Tag Team Match
The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson)
vs The All Night Express (Rhett Titus and Kenny King)
Titus and King immediately take the fights to the Bucks as the ring announcements are still being made. The Bucks quickly fight back and double team Titus. The Young Bucks are in full control over Titus. Titus fights back with a chinbreaker and tags in his partner, who cleans house. The match breaks down for a minute, and Matt Jackson hits a springboard DDT to King on the apron. They celebrate on the outside, and are met by a tope suicida by Titus. Stereo superkicks by the Young Bucks make King the first eliminated wrestler.
Back from commercial, and the Young Bucks are still in control with double team moves. The Jackson brothers are now focusing their attack on Titus’ surgically-repaired knee. Some miscommunication from the Young Bucks allows Titus to hit a Northern Lights Suplex on Matt Jackson, but Nick Jackson breaks up the pin attempt with a double stomp. They go for More Bang for Your Buck, but Titus rolls up Matt Jackson to eliminate him.
King makes his way back to ringside to cheer on his teammate. Titus hits a nice dropkick on Nick Jackson to keep his momentum going. Matt Jackson tries to get involved, but King hits him with a facebuster on the apron. Titus connects with a big DDT on Nick Jackson to pick up the pinfall victory.
Winners by Pinfall: The All Night Express
ROHWorld.com’s Thoughts: This was a pretty good match and a nice way to wrap up the feud between the Young Bucks and the All Night Express. Titus was finally able to get his revenge on the Jackson Brothers by eliminating them both singlehandedly. This is a great way to elevate the All Night Express back to where they were before Titus’ injury. Hopefully, this leads to a title match for the All Night Express.
