ROH on SBG : 7/14/12 Report‏

This week’s Ring of Honor television broadcast is another “Road Rage episode, but this time it is featuring matches from “Best in the World 2012.” Tonight we’ll see Michael Elgin vs Finlay, the TV Title triple threat match, and highlights of the ROH World Title match.

Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness welcome us to the show.

Backstage Truth Martini says the House of Truth will take another step forward. Elgin says all legends must fall and tonight Elgin becomes the legend. Roderick Strong says he’ll be out there if Elgin needs help, but Elgin refuses any help.

Fit Finlay vs Michael Elgin

The match almost immediately goes to the mat, and Finlay is neutralizing Elgin’s power by grounding him. Finlay is focusing his attack on Elgin’s knee. Finlay has been dominant so far in this match. On the outside, Finlay drops Elgin throat-first across the barricade. Elgin sidesteps Finlay, which sends the “Belfast Bruiser” into the ring post. Elgin tries to go to the top, but Finlay pushes him to the outside. Finlay hits the Celtic Cross, but Elgin kicks out. Finlay hits the tombstone, but once again Elgin kicks out of the pin attempt. Elgin is able to recover and hits the bucklebomb. He follows it up with a spinning powerbomb to pick up the victory.

Winner by Pinfall: Michael Elgin

After the match, Elgin shoves Truth Martini to the side and shakes Finlay’s hand. He backs Martini into the corner, but leaves it at that.

McGuinness and Kelly are ringside at intermission. They throw it to a highlight package of Truth Martini unveiling the Guardians of Truth and the match that followed.
