ROHWorld Weekend Roundup (7/27/12)

Boiling Point 2012 now an iPPV

The big news this week is Ring of Honor’s announcement that Boiling Point 2012 will be streamed live on ROHWrestling.com as a live iPPV on August 11.

The show will be headlined by Kevin Steen defending his Ring of Honor world championship against Chikara Grand champion Eddie Kingston in a rematch from earlier this year.  Steen faced Kingston for the Chikara grand championship back in April at Chikara’s “Hot Off the Griddle” event, but after a disqualification, the rivalry between the two champions looks to come to a boiling point on August 11.

Also on the card, Mike Mondo takes on Roderick Strong in what should be a solid match, and presumably another step in Mondo’s elevation up the Ring of Honor card.

Plus, Sara del Rey returns to Ring of Honor action as part of a mixed tag alongside Eddie Edwards to take on Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis.

This iPPV has admittedly been authorized at the last minute, so it will be interesting to see how this show does in comparison to Death Before Dishonor X on September 15, which has been advertised since May.  Still, the draw of watching Sara del Rey in action, especially with news of her signing with WWE breaking recently, might compel long-time fans to try the show despite its minimal build on television.

ROH Headed Back to New Jersey

Ring of Honor announced this week that it will be returning to New Jersey on October 6 at the Rahway Recreation Center.  Tickets are currently on sale for Ringside members, and they will be available to the general public on Friday at 10 A.M. EST, (they’re probably available by the time you read this).

Glory by Honor XI

Glory by Honor XI will take place on October 11 at the International Center from Mississauga, Ontario.

Rhett Titus’ Future

The latest ROH Newswire is hinting that Rhett Titus will, in fact, be participating in the tag team tournament in some form or fashion.

Bandwagoners Rejoice!

The Bravado Brothers were announced as the sixth team in the tag tournament to determine the new Ring of Honor tag team champions.  The final two teams will be announced early next week on the ROH web site.
