At the latest set of ROH TV tapings in Louisville, KY, a massive match was set for Ring of Honor’s next iPPV, ‘Final Battle 2011’.
Kevin Steen will make his in-ring return to face off against his former mentor Steve Corino. If Steen wins the match, he will be reinstated to the ROH roster. If Corino manages to be victorious, Steen will be gone from ROH for good.
In another interesting twist, Jimmy Jacobs will be special referee and Jim Cornette will watch on from ringside.
Corino managed Steen during most of 2010 as he went on a violent and sick rampage against his former best friend El Generico which culminated in a ‘Fight Without Honor’ match at last year’s ‘Final Battle 2010’ which he lost – thus leaving the company.
One year later, Steen will return to the ring after invading ROH events for the past six months including his turn on Corino at ‘Best In The World 2011’ where he hit a package piledriver on him despite claiming he was a changed man.
This is a huge match that could help pave the landscape of Ring of Honor for years to come. Will Steen get his wish and turn ROH into ‘Kevin Steen’s Ring of Honor’ or will Steve Corino be able to make up for his sins by saving ROH from Steen’s insanity?
We will find out at Final Battle…
