Build up to the huge ‘Showdown in the Sun’ weekend has already begun after last night’s TV tapings in Baltimore.
Three title matches were set for the shows in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on March 30 and 31. The first is a ROH World Tag Team title rematch from ‘Final Battle 2011’. There, the Briscoes defeated Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team to become seven-time champions. WGTT have been made ever since and will get their shot at reclaiming the gold in Florida.
The other two matches concern the biggest prize in professional wrestling – the ROH World Title.
On day one, of what is bound to be a great weekend of wrestling action, Davey Richards will defend his World Title in a triple threat match against Roderick Strong and Eddie Edwards. Strong and Edwards are both former World Champions and these three men are no strangers to each other. Both Edwards and Strong put together serious cases for the next shot so Jim Cornette decided that both men would get a chance in the same match!
On night two, it looks like the winner of that triple threat match will face another tough task, as they walk into yet another triple threat match. Unfortunately certain reports are saying that this match won’t be just a triple threat match, but a match possibly featuring another two competitors. We will try and find out more information as we can. The champion will take on ‘Survival of the Fittest 2011’ winner Michael Elgin and ‘Wrestling’s Worst Nightmare’ Kevin Steen. This will be a hard-hitting, intense bout with the winner being able to proudly call themselves the best wrestler in the World. Elgin was scheduled to get a shot at the World Title and Kevin Steen is undefeated since his return to ROH so this will be a fascinating contest.
All three matches should be great bouts and if you don’t want to miss them, you can order both nights of great wrestling action for just $20! For details, go to GFL.tv
