Steen v Richards at Border Wars on iPPV‏ are delighted to announce that Ring of Honor’s upcoming return to Canada, ‘Border Wars’, will now be an iPPV – with the ROH World Title being on the line!

ROH have been telling us how ‘Border Wars’ is going to be a huge event in the company’s history, and they recently announced that the ‘Belfast Brawler’ Finlay had signed to compete.

And now the match that everybody has wanted to see, Kevin Steen vs. Davey Richards, will go down in Toronto for the ROH World Championship after it was announced on this week’s ROH TV show.

Steen has been targeting Richards for six months now. He entered the ring after Richards’ title bout against El Generico at ‘Glory By Honor X’ and brawled with the American Wolf.

He then won his ROH job back at ‘Final Battle 2011’ by beating former mentor Steve Corino in a brutal affair.

Later in that show, after Richards had defended the belt against Eddie Edwards, the man he won the title from, Steen came out and told Richards that he was going to take his title from him in 2012.

The same thing happened after the ’10th Anniversary Show’ where Richards and protégée Kyle O’Reilly lost to Edwards and Adam Cole. Steen grabbed a mic and said the real main event should have been him v Richards for the title and the Canadian has finally got his wish.

On May 12, on home soil, he will get the chance to take on Richards for the World Title – with ROH Officials deciding that this must-see match will now be shown worldwide on iPPV.

Richards has defended the belt against the likes of Edwards, Generico, Jay Lethal, Roderick Strong and Michael Elgin. He beat Elgin on Day Two of ‘Showdown in the Sun’ in a stand-out match but now faces another difficult challenge to keep the most prestigious title in professional wrestling, especially seeing as Steen’s package piledriver will be legal again for one night only!

ROHWorld has created a brand new microsite for the iPPV, with exclusive match graphics for every single bout appearing when they’re announed, you can check it out here:
