Every wrestler on the ROH roster knows what a victory at Survival Of The Fittest means. Proof that you are one of the elite wrestlers in ROH. An opportunity to cement your place as ROH World Champion. Roderick Strong has already accomplished both.
That doesn’t mean, however, that when he meets Rhett Titus in the first-announced Survival Of The Fittest qualifier on November 18th that he won’t be taking Titus very seriously. That comes with good reason. After the 2011 that the All Night Express member has had, you would be a fool to take him lightly.
2011 has been the year that Rhett Titus, along with Kenny King, has risen meteorically through the ROH ranks. Between bloody battles with The Briscoes, incredible nightly performances, and earning a tag team title shot at Glory By Honor X, not many on the roster can claim the kind of success that Titus has experienced thus far in 2011. Winning Survival Of The Fittest and earning an ROH World Title shot, while a career goal for Titus, almost seems like the next logical progression in the best year of his career.
After a phenomenal 2010 that saw Roderick Strong finally capture the ROH World Championship, 2011 has been a bit of a disappointment. A second Survival Of The Fittest victory, he won it in 2005, along with another World Title shot, could turn it all around. In fact, becoming the first two-time SOTF winner could cement him as one of the greatest ROH wrestlers in history.
November 18th in Dayton, OH is a big night for ROH as a whole. For Strong, Titus, and the remaining 12 Survival Of The Fittest entrants, it could be the biggest night of their career. Who will survive to earn a World Title shot? We’ll find out November 18th.
