Supercard of Honor VI Results

Jim Cornette came out to kick off the show in front of 600-700 people and announced that on August 13th in Chicago Ridge, IL, the first ROH TV taping will take place! All titles will be defended that night. He also says that the website will be upgraded as the show will be going on-line with exclusive bonus matches too. The whole roster comes out and thank Cary Silkin to a huge ovation.

ROH World Title Match
Eddie Edwards defeated Roderick Strong with Truth Martini

Edwards shocked the world when he defeated Strong at ‘Manhattan Mayhem IV’ to win the title and the former champ finally got his rematch. This was Edwards’ third title defence and it was another successful one as he picked up the win in what was described as a terrific main event. The match ended after Edwards locked in the Achilles Lock and started to stomp down on Strong’s head which forced the referee to stop the contest. The House of Truth try to attack Eddie post match but Davey Richards makes the save. Edwards gets a mic and says he won’t have another match in ROH unless it’s against Davey. Davey says he’s not sure which Eddie is so insecure but agrees and tells him to be careful for what he wishes for.

Jay and Mark Briscoe defeated The All Night Express

This all started at ‘Manhattan Mayhem IV’, ANX pulled out a surprise victory over The Briscoes and the brothers weren’t happy; they attacked Titus & King after the match and went on to have rematches at ‘Honor Takes Center Stage’ and ‘ROH Revolution: USA’ which the Briscoes both won. The only way to settle this dispute was with a Street Fight. This was an all out war with lots of crazy spots but it was The Briscoes once again who picked up the win. Jay Briscoe was knocked out with a vicious chair shot but fortunately for him, he fell on top of Rhett Titus who was already down on the mat and got the pinfall.

Non Title Grudge Match
Colt Cabana defeated World TV Champion Christopher Daniels with Truth Martini

Daniels shocked everybody when he turned against Cabana and El Generico and joined the House of Truth at ‘Honor Takes Center Stage’. These two faced off at ‘ROH Revolution: USA’ where Daniels got the win after interference from Truth Martini. Cabana asked Todd Sinclair to send Martini to the back and he did. This gave the advantage to Cabana and he made it pay as he won the contest. After the match, Steve Corino came to try and talk to Colt but was beaten down by the House of Truth.

Grudge Match
Shelton Benjamin defeated Claudio Castagnoli with Shane Hagadorn

Benjamin was facing his first singles match in ROH, going against a man he’s no stranger to. Benjamin & Haas beat Castagnoli & Hero at ‘Honor Takes Center Stage’ to end their record breaking title run. This match didn’t disappoint and it was Benjamin who picked up the win following a top rope T-Bone suplex. After the match, Hero & Haas came out as both teams stared down.

Davey Richards defeated Charlie Haas

Another man facing his first singles bout since joining ROH was Charlie Haas. He had the tough task of facing Davey Richards – a man on a mission. Haas more than proved that he can keep up with best in ROH on his own as these two put on some brilliant mat wrestling. In what was described as a very good back-and-forth technical match, Richards got the win following two enziguris and a buzzsaw kick.

El Generico defeated Chris Hero with Shane Hagadorn

Generico is currently involved with the House of Truth and defeated Christopher Daniels at ‘ROH Revolution: Canada’. On the same night, Chris Hero tried and failed to beat Eddie Edwards to become ROH World Champion. Before the match, Generico accused Hero of being Thor and gave him an inflatable hammer. Hero originally got the win in this one after a rolling elbow but he put his feet on on the ropes for extra leverage and the match was restarted after fans notified Todd Sinclair. Soon after the restart, Generico hit the Yakuza Kick followed by the Half Nelson Suplex for the win.

One Final Time
“The Prodigy” Mike Bennett defeated Steve Corino

Corino revealed his sponsor to be Jimmy Jacobs before the match. Jacobs says he’s in the best shape of his life and he’s come back to help Corino and he wants to fight for honor. Jim Cornette comes out and gets security to remove Jacobs from the building. Corino and Bennett haven’t seen eye-to-eye and Bennett has gotten the better of the veteran the last two times they’ve faced off. This was the final match and Bennett came out victorious again. Corino was going to utilise the ‘Thumb In The Bum’ but was stopped by the referee, this led to Bennett hitting a piledriver for the win. Corino got a huge ovation after the match.

Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly defeated The Bravado Brothers

Cole & O’Reilly have been trying to get that big win after facing all of the top teams in ROH but keep falling short. At ‘ROH Revolution: Canada’, The Bravados told them to stop trying and give them their spot as they can’t win. Cole & O’Reilly hit the ring and attacked them and this match was set. In what was described as a good, fast paced match, Cole & O’Reilly got the win after a lungblower combination.

Homicide defeated Michael Elgin with Truth Martini

Homicide has been on a losing run as of late as The Embassy keep getting the better of him. With The Embassy not present in Chicago, he went up against the impressive Michael Elgin of the House of Truth. Elgin kept using his strength advantage in what was said to be a slow, methodical match. Homicide managed to overcome the Elgin’s strength and hit the Ace Crusher to pick up the win in the opening contest.
