Don’t let the blue eyes fool you, Tommaso Ciampa is gelignite-loaded.
If his current unblemished record is anything to go by, the self-proclaimed “Dominant Male” is aiming right for the top of the ROH ranking system.
Methodical training in the legendary gyms of Boston, Massachusetts, has helped Ciampa to develop a uniquely innovative offensive arsenal. At ‘Death Before Dishonor IX’, the intense prospect used the full extent of his repertoire, including a devastating Powerbomb-Lungblower hybrid, to pick up his third consequetive win over, former ROH World Champion, Homicide.
Ciampa and, his fellow Embassy man, Rhino showed great promise, as a duo, and the thoroughbred Italian-American has now proven that he is equally comfortable in both tag and singles action.
With a personal issue, seemingly, developing between Jay Lethal and The Embassy, the upcoming ‘Glory By Honor X’ spectacular may be the perfect time for ROH’s booking committee to pull the trigger on Ciampa’s first title opportunity.
Whether in tag or singles competition, with Rhino as his insurance policy and with Ghanaian riches behind him, it would be difficult to bet against Ciampa becoming a title-holder in the months ahead. Indeed, many pundits already have the rookie pegged as an early favourite for November’s ‘Survival of the Fittest’ tournament.
Embassy Premier Prince Nana is determined, more than ever, that his latest pet project will deliver on the hype, to one day become the face of Ring of Honor.
This bitter, failed wrestler has expended much of his vast inheritance, in the pursuit of Championship recognition, using his wealth to live vicariously through his hand-picked mercenaries.
Ironically, it was, current Television Champion, Lethal that ended the Pure Title run of Nana’s last Champion, John Walters.
If given his opportunity, the explosive Ciampa may represent The Embassy’s best chance of striking gold, for six long years.
