We witnessed new ROH Tag Team Champions crowned at last night’s Dynamite; however, who they are is still a mystery.
Just before the main event match for the ROH World Tag Team Championship, Samoa Joe was seen in the backstage area clutching his knee after a supposed attack. MJF decided to defend the titles in a Handicap Match.
In a short match where MJF beat down both men, a third masked man came out from under the ring to hit MJF in his injured shoulder with a pipe. He did his best to fight everyone off but quickly became overmatched.
To add insult to injury, one of the masked men hit MJF’s own Heat Seeker finishing move to get the pinfall and win the ROH Tag Team Championship. Before the new crowned champions could do any more damage, they were run off by a limping Samoa Joe.
The Devil appeared on the screen, followed by a “Pleasure doing business with you” graphic. Joe then hit MJF with a chair and laid him out with the Muscle Buster to close out the, yet again, overrun portion of the show.
Adam Cole & MJF won the ROH Tag Team Titles at AEW All-In in August. Cole was injured the following month at AEW Grand Slam. Since then, MJF has been defending the titles alone or sometimes teaming with a partner.
The ending to this week’s Dynamite show gives even more intrigue and questions going into AEW’s World’s End PPV this Saturday night in Long Island, NY.
What shape will MJF be in to defend his AEW World Title in the main event? Can MJF overcome the odds? And will we get some clarity on who the Devil is? Only time will tell this Saturday night!
